Ten years at One Park Avenue, so hard to believe the time has flown by so quickly. What a ride it has been, with construction starting right before 9/11 and us wondering what type of world we'd be living in. Turns out that Oasis was able to contribute its small part in the recovery, from providing chair massage for 38 straight days to the brave fireman , police and rescue workers at ground zero- to helping New Yorkers cope on our collective road to recovery. We cannot thank you our so valued customers for your continued support all these years. I don’t get out of our offices often enough, but last week my toes were definitely not yoga-worthy and a pedicure was in order. So I put my feet in the capable hands of Michelle Piacentino at Oasis Day Spa in Dobbs Ferry. My trust was not misplaced. In addition to having a rollicking good time chatting with her (she’s been doing nails since she was 14, so she clearly loves her work), I received a meticulous—and luxurious—milk and honey pedicure. Rasps and files were disposable; there were no whirlpool jets in the tub to pass along previous patron’s germs. Added bonus: she convinced me to go with a darker polish than my usual (“darker colors draw attention to the nails so you don’t notice blemishes or bunions as much”). Days of milk and honey indeed!
